Ignacio Garcia-Gomez

Dodge City - Ignacio Garcia-Gomez, 38, died August 12, 2012 at his home in Dodge City. He was born on November 5, 1973 at Tecolatlan, Jalisco, Mexico, the son of Jose Angel and Ofelia Garcia-Ramirez.

Ignacio came to the United States in 1985. On March 17, 2012, he married Elva Mendez in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked for a construction company in Dodge City. Ignacio enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Dodge City.

Ignacio is also survived by four children, Vivian and Aberto Garcia of Las Vegas, Nevada and Miguel and Linette Garcia of West Covina, California; two step children, Miguel and Jaqueline Solis of Dodge City; his mother, Ofelia Gomez-De Garcia of Mexico; three brothers, Jose Antonio Garcia and wife Lourdes of Dodge City, Gustavo Garcia and wife Carmen of Mexico, and Jose Angel Garcia and wife, Chary of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Ofelia Garcia of Dodge City; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Miguel and Alberto Garcia.

Vigil service will be a 5:00 PM on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 from Noon to 5:00 PM. Funeral Mass and burial will be at a later date in Mexico. Memorials are suggested to Ignacio Garcia-Gomez Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
