VIRGINIA E. TYLER

Sublette - Virginia E. Tyler, 78, died August 14, 2012 at Homestead Health and Rehabilitation Center in Garden City. She was born on September 25, 1933 at the family home in Copeland, the daughter of Kenneth and Aletha (Hoskinson) Menzie.

Virginia was raised in Copeland and graduated from Copeland High School in 1954. On September 25, 1950, she married Fredrick Eldeen Tyler in Copeland. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2001. They moved to California in 1957 and returned to Sublette in 1971 where she resided since. Virginia and Fred owned and operated the Copeland Cyclo Rinse for many years. Virginia's family was a very important part of her life. She was an avid collector of dolls and glass figurines and enjoyed many activities including bowling, reading, crocheting, and bingo.

She was a member of the Sublette Southern Baptist Church of Sublette.

Virginia is survived by three daughters, Lynne Paris and husband Charlie of Sublette, Joni Campbell and husband John of Southhaven, Mississippi, and Ellen Hadley and husband Ray of Dodge City; one brother, John Menzie and wife June of Shell Knob, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren.In addition to her husband, Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Jessica Hickman; and a great grandson, Stormy Paris.

Funeral service will be held at Sublette Southern Baptist Church on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Shane Lester presiding. Burial will follow at Copeland Cemetery in Copeland. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Sublette on Sunday, August 19, 2012 from Noon to 6:00 P.M.. Memorials are suggested to Copeland Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
